Calm and confident under pressure…
One of the key issues in sports psychology work is helping clients to keep calm under the pressure of competitons. Educating Archie
Archie was bred from my IDxTB mare, Autumn, and is by Windsor Heights. Autumn competed at BE Novice level and qualified for various Riding Club championships. Experiential Coaching with Horses
There is a growing awareness of how being with horses can have a beneficial effect. This has been taken further by organisations such as Eagala and Epona in the USA who have developed coaching programmes using horses.
Liz Morrison has been developing these approaches to take account of a more European approach to learning. She has blended in her MSc project work on action learning and experiential metaphor with her coach training and NLP Sports Psychology background. She is now working with Ian Lewis of the Campaign for Adventure and they have developed a programme that is being successfully used with young offenders as well with managment teams.
They are now working with the Institute for Outdoor Learning to develop a professional training course for those who want to include work with horses. This will be of interest to both equestrian professionals and outdoor education and adventure facilitators. A webinar explaining the approach is being developed – contact us to be notified as soon as it is available.
Greg Drummond – starting young horses
Greg Drummond is a professional starter of young racehorses, employed by top racing stables to prepare 2 and 3yo racehorses for their future lives.
